Day #2 Alleluia Church Team
Revelation 22:1 then states; "And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as a crystal, proceeding out of the Lamb" ... to the thirsty I will freely give from the fountain of the water of life. ... if any man thirsts, let him come unto me and drink.
Our teams words of the day: desperation, humility, exhaustion, perseverance, water, longing, hope, and blessed
Today included 3 amazingly eye opening and life changing water trunk stops and tours of Hope Village and Fleri Farm. To give you a little better perspective, City Soliel, a portion of Port-au-Prince has 300,000 people in 4 square miles. The water truck stops and our interaction with the Haitian people were experiences of the heart, mind, and body. The moment you get off the tap tap (our form of transportation) children's arms were in the air reaching up to be held. Hoping to steal a moment of our time and affection. Little did they know the lasting impression they left on our hearts. We were either carrying buckets or babies. It was absolutely amazing to see the physical strength of the Haitian people. There were girls around 12 years old carrying 5 gallon buckets of water on their heads all by themselves. Also, the children and babies themselves were incredibly strong as they climbed on all of us like jungle gyms, especially Troy and Adam. During our day, we also stopped at Hope Village which includes a school, clinic, and church which have been built by Healing Haiti. Approximately 60 feet of trash was removed in order to build Hope Village on solid ground. It is a true gift from God. One highlight so far was Carol getting the opportunity to reunite with Venel, a boy who came to stay with her and her family to play soccer. We also made a stop and saw Fleri Farms, which is growing multiple different crops like mangos, pomegranates, papaya to name a few and has some great future plans for the surrounding community.
