Stretched

Today our group started the morning off with pancakes, eggs, mangos, oatmeal and cherry juice, followed by an amazing devotional reminding us to be like a rubber band - allowing God to stretch us for his purpose.  After our bodies and souls were full, we took our before water truck picture and headed out for our day.

On our way to Cite Soleil, we encountered a road block due to the flooding from last night's rain storm.  Once we finally arrived at our stop in Citè Soleil, we visited Hope Church and learned about how it was built and how important it was to the community.  Then the water truck arrived and we got to be God's hands and feet by holding children as they clung to us, helping to fill and carry the water buckets, and playing with the joyful kids.  At the end of our stay in Cite Soleil, we got the opportunity to visit the Haitian Initiative Soccer Program and Feeding Center.

Our day was eye opening and made us appreciate all that we have from our running water to our maintained roads.  We are so thankful for our first serving day and to see what God has in store for us during the rest of the week.
