Michigan Team Day One

Travel Day
We arrived at the airport very early this morning sleep deprived but excited for our adventure. The airport was not busy at all and we made it quickly through TSA-- even our Thanksgiving turkey passed the check!! Our flight was slightly delayed due to an accident on 275 and one of our flight attendants was stuck in traffic. We were finally able to board and were delayed again due to a medical emergency. It sure was God at work with that timing; had we not been delayed the emergency could have happened in flight. Several members of our group were sitting close to the lady with the emergency and our favorite Nurse Terri was even called to help! Thankfully they were able to get the emergency taken care of but we still needed to de-ice the plane. After about 15 minutes, we were finally on our way! The rest of our flights were fairly uneventful. We landed in Haiti around 3:00 p.m. Again, the airport was not crowded at all! We made it swiftly through the immigrations and customs and were quickly loaded into our tap-tap and whisked off to our guest house. We checked out the guest house and secure grounds and relaxed a bit while our leader was in meetings. Our Haitian hosts prepared delicious taco bowls for dinner! We are all ready to retire for the night and excited to see what tomorrow brings! Thank you for your continued prayers! God Bless!
