Day 1 Arrival in PAP
After much anticipation we have finally landed in Haiti!! For me this brings feelings of great relaxation. Leading up to the trip I had a lot different thoughts running through my head. What will this trip look like? Will I get along with the team? I am the odd man out being the only goer not from Minnesota. :) That feeling quickly went away when were finally all together. God brings people together for reasons beyond our understanding. We all come on these trips for different reasons. Some of us have been to Haiti before and some it is our first trip. We all bring different strengths but form one body. We need to trust in God and that he will provide the wisdom and protection for the week ahead. Our faith will be tested as we step out of our comfort zone. As long as we concentrate on the person in front of us and let the holy spirit guide is all will be fine. All God's promises are places of refuge, fortresses where we may flee when we feel week.
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2)
